Conquest History - October 8, 2004
I first noticed the cv joint boots deteriorating when the exhaust system was being completed back in June. By September, the right side inner boot had ripped completely open. The situation was not aided by a flood in my driveway shortly thereafter, which immersed the entire underside of the car for a full day. (A couple of resulting electrical issues still persist.)Terrence procured the replacement axles, and Zack did the major part of the labor. The right side was exceedingly stubborn coming out, and the job took over three hours as a result. But in the end it was a success.
We then went on to install the Kelly OVC hard pipe and Turbo XS blow-off valve. Zack's paint job on the pipe was ruined trying to fit it under the aluminum coolant pipe running to the turbocharger, but I've since touched up the paint, and the coolant pipe will eventually be replaced with something more flexible. Happily, the BOV works superbly.
