Conquest History - March 9, 2006

For some time before this I had noticed an excessive odor of raw fuel, but had been unable to visually locate the source. Eventually a gleaming film appeared over the surface of the throttle body after each time driving the car. At first I attempted to tighten the bolts holding the assembly together, but it turned out that one of the threads was stripped, and the bolt just got looser. So I had AAA tow the car to Meineke. There they helli coiled the bad thread and replaced all the seals with the Sorenson gasket kit. The main culprit had been the old large upper O-ring, which was missing a sizeable chunk of its circumference.
